History

Banyumas tourism council is a group of think thank that responsible for producing some ideas to develop tourism sector. As a non profit institution out side the government system, Banyumas Tourism Council is connecting tourism field with the government. Its also becomes a partner for promotion field.

Since established in 1957, Dewan Tourisme Indonesia then changed became Indonesia Tourism Council (Depari), believes that tourism is one of the important sector for Indonesia. Depari founding is Sri Sultan Hamengkubuono IX and vice president M Hatta. They believe that Indonesian economical should be encourage with tourism sector. In the Sukarno’s period the first Indonesian president, Depari also involved to held several program such as Asia Africa Conference.

Depari Banyumas has legalization to work with government resolution letter of middle java province (Propinsi Jawa Tengah ) since June 26 2007. The period of management organization is only three years for each period. The members of Depari are people who have enough experience and capacity at the tourism field. They are academics, travel agent, and hotel manager and restaurant, retired, also artist.
