Catch Wild Tiger at Cipendok Waterfall

Banyumas had more gorgeous places then Verona the feudal city in Italy. The place between Romeo and Juliet built their love, less beautiful then the place where Raden Ranusantika and Dewi Mas Inten share their love. If you don’t believe please visit Cipendok waterfall which is the higher about 100 meters.

A lot of words are used by Shakespeare Romeo Juliet author to describe Verona City and make the tale of Rome and Juliet. Otherwise, the beauty of this place which includes the Cilongok sub District can describe with any word. Music symphonies which appear with waterfall booming, river sound the bird sing in the forest an sometimes the wild monkey scream. It makes lot of word do not use to describe this place.

If you are lucky, you can see appearing one of unique animal in the world, the grey chest monkey. While on the jungle sky sometimes Javanese eagle flies beautifully. If you have enough braveness you can see too ashamed tiger which is still lazy too appear around Pucung lake area.

Love Site

Up to now people around it believe that the legend wrapped with a couple of romantic story, between Raden Ranusantka and Dewi Mas inten. The romantic story leave a number of physical prove which is still remaining.

The name of Cipendok Waterfall is started from the legend hat still has relation with Diponegoro’s war. This war has happened for five years (1825-1830) between prince Diponegoro versus Dutch colonialist. The war had won by Dutch made Banyumas wa under colonialist.

Raden Ranusentika was the leader in Ajibarang next to Banyumas area. Dutch ordered him to lead working under pressure, opening the jungle around slope Slamet Mountain to be farm.

Five month led jungle opening used to happen a strange when the tries had cut down it would have grown in the next morning. As if there were no trees which had cut down. It happened continually, so that make Raden Ranusantika confused. So he prayed to God asking an instruction. Unfortunately he did not get it.

Raden Ranusentika went for fishing a fish near the waterfall, at that time he left his fishhook was pulled by big fish. Until his fishhook had curve. When it pulled his fisher got a Keris (Javanese sword) sheath ring which had golden light.

When it had closed suddenly Raden Ranusentika could have seen a lot of evils on the jungle which had cut down. They were creature genie that failed R Ranusentika’s work.

Based on Breden Santa’s idea, a leader of workers, the waterfall wherever R Ranusentika found sheath namely by Curug Cipendok come from the word Curug (waterfall) and Pendok (Javanese sword sheath ring).

Besides finding Pendok R Ranusentika also had met with perish, naely Dewi Mas Inten cause she was not human she got popular name Princes Sudem. This name comes from “ Susu adem” which mean cold breast. Causes as perish she did not have hot blood like human.
Both of them locked each other and finished the jungle opening together. Dewi Mas Inten carried to Ajibarang an then taken as R Ranusantika’s mistress.

The site of R Ranusentika is called Watu Kunci and Dewi Mas Inten site called Watu Gembok. Dewi mas Inten is believed as monkey evil by local society she helped R Ranusentika opening the jungle. They separated when Ranusentika be a regent of Purbalingga for his successes opening the jungle.
